Men's daily life in Greece
If men arent in the battle field they are either training in the military boot camp or going to the theatre. The shows involved either Greek Gods or current Greek politics. It is thought that women were not allowed to watch theatre or perform at the theatre, although male actors did play women roles.
Womens Daily Life in Greece
Lives of Women in Ancient Greece were usually very tiring doing all of their house work, spinning, weaving and other chores. They were not involved in public life or in politics. The live were normally quite happy staying in the house although one public duty was acting as a priestess at a temple.
How Greek People Lived
Ancient Greek homes were usually plain and simple. They were made of mud bricks covered in plaster. Roofs were made of pottery tiles. Windows did not have glass and were just holes in the wall.Poor people lived in just one, two or three rooms. Rich Greeks lived in large houses with several rooms.Usually they were designed to have more than one storey.Downstairs was the kitchen and the dining room so was the living room. Up stairs were a couple of bedrooms and a room for the women called the gynaecium. They did some chores in there and most of the time they ate their meals in there to avoid eating with the males. The house was built like every other house in Greece. The home were built so that they would be warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
